WOODSTOCK – Dr. James Kearns will share insights and practices from more than 20 years of experience in running marathons and Ironman Triathlons at a workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Northwest Healthcare center, 800 E. South St., Woodstock.
The workshop, Practicing Mindfulness, will focus on the techniques of meditation and mindfulness to help athletes get the most out of running.
“Exercise is a gift that helps people disconnect from the grid,” Kearns said. “It gives us a break from the busyness of day-to-day, but it also energizes and invigorates our entire life. Adding the practice of mindfulness to your exercise intensifies the experience, while connecting you to a deeper place in your soul.”
