SPRING GROVE – From Friday through the Labor Day holiday, Spring Grove police will be out as part of a statewide crackdown on drunken driving.

Officers will be “aggressively looking for drunk drivers,” the village police department said in a news release. They also will be ticketing for seatbelt violations.

The crackdown will be supported with national and state advertising designed to discourage people from driving under the influence.

The step-up in enforcement is funded through federal traffic safety funds funneled through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
