WAUKEGAN — Police in Waukegan say they're investigating a half-dozen cases of women being shot with pellet or BB guns over the last two weeks.
Waukegan police said Tuesday the ammunition has been powerful enough to pierce skin and rip through women's clothing.
Commander Joe Florip tells The News-Sun that the incidents have happened all over the northern Illinois suburb and from early in the morning to late in the evening. Police say the victims were women out in public and close to a street or at an intersection.
Police are encouraging the public to be alert and report any suspicious activity. Anyone with specific information should contact Waukegan police.
