Gratitude for garden

Published: Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

To the Editor:

Over a month ago, our basement was flooded with 6-plus feet of water, ruining everything – 56 years of belongings and memories ending up in a landfill.

This was a devastating experience for us in our golden years. Then we were given a gift beyond measure. A very dear friend, Jean McDaniel, Paul Scherman and their workers came and literally transformed our overgrown, weed-infested yard into a dream garden.

They will never know the gratitude we feel for bringing such joy to two whose hearts were broken. You gave us determination to put our house in order and enjoy the beauty you gave to us.

God give to you, Jean, Paul, and your marvelous workers His choicest blessings. “Thank you” doesn’t come close to express the gratitude we feel.
