GREENSBORO, N.C. – Crystal Lake’s Joe Affrunti’s start to the Wyndam Championship was pretty much what he wanted.

But after beginning Thursday’s first round with a birdie, everything went downhill from there. Affrunti posted four bogeys and a double bogey to finish the opening round of his latest PGA Tour event with a 4-over-par 74 at Sedgefield Country Club. His only other birdie came on the 15th hole before finishing with a bogey and two pars.

Affrunti will enter Friday’s second round tied for 138th place, 10 shots behind leaders Chris Stroud and Ross Fisher.
