Marengo-Union Library to celebrate grant

MARENGO – The Marengo-Union Library invites community members to attend an award ceremony for the library’s selection to receive a grant of $543,715.90 from the Illinois State Library toward the renovation of the new library. 

In attendance will be Secretary of State Jesse White, Illinois State Librarian Anne Craig, local dignitaries and community members.  

The event will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 27 at the current library, 200 S. State St., Marengo.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Marengo-Union Library.

The grant will help the library move to a larger facility to provide improved services to the community.
