Uninformed decision

Published: Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

Mike Lesperance, Nunda Township highway commissioner, is determined to remove a long-standing barrier between Red Barn Road and Deep Wood Drive despite many objections from homeowners in the affected area.

No engineering or traffic studies have been done concerning this issue, and even though a public forum was held at which a compromise solution (one that Lesperance advocated during his campaign) was proposed and generally accepted by those in attendance, Lesperance said he still intends to open the residential area near Prairie Ridge High School to through traffic.

Apparently, Lesperance sees no need to research the impact of his decisions and is angered by those who question them. In fact, he misrepresented the school district transportation department’s position in this matter.

Is this uninformed, disingenuous type of unilateral decision making what residents can expect for the next four years?
