AMERSFOORT, THE NETHERLANDS – Amber Heinz of Amersfoort, formerly of Johnsburg, and Jan Trinus Haitjema of Amersfoort, were married in a double-ring ceremony at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Castle Doorwerth in Heelsum, The Netherlands, officiated by Heleen van den Houten.
The couple were then married again in a double-ring ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Colby Byron Barn in Grayslake officiated by the Rev. David Gaddini.
She is the daughter of Thomas and Dawn Heinz of Johnsburg. He is the son of Trinus Jan and Feikje Haitjema of Joure, The Netherlands.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She carried a bouquet of pink astilbe and roses.
Maid of honor was Allison Heinz of Johnsburg. Matron of honor was Andrea Marrinson of Bangkok, Thailand. Bridesmaids were Allison Bagby, Anie O’Dell, Anneke Haitjema, Christina Chapel, Jeanna Dalton, Marissa Beyer and Abigail O ‘Dell. Flower girl was Natalie Chapel.
Best men were Anton Haitjema and Robert Visser, both of Joure, The Netherlands. Groomsmen were Matthew Heinz, Bart Pander, Daniel Gruis, David Marrinson, Floris Stoffelsma, Timothy Kendzior and Tyler Smith. Ushers were grandparents Wayne and Dorothea Kramer, John and Dorothy Heinz, Jan and Grietsje Haitjema and Wietske Hoeskstra-Radersma. Ring bearer was Ryan O’Dell.
Nuptial music was provided by Robert Visser of Joure and Tyler Smith of Grayslake.
The receptions took place at Castle Doorwerth for The Netherlands wedding and Colby Byron Barn for the Grayslake wedding. The couple traveled to Mexico in between their two weddings.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Johnsburg High School and a 2009 graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. She is an architect intern/assistant designer at Studio Schaeffer Architecten BNA in Den Haag, The Netherlands.
The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Bornego College in Heerenveen, The Netherlands, and a 2004 graduate of NHL in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. He is a software engineer for KPN in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
They reside in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
