Requires decision-making

To the Editor:

Just an opinion. McHenry County Board members want to dump their organizational-housekeeping task of selecting a chairman in the laps of the electorate. Why should that selection become our responsibility?

Board members were voted in to do a job that requires decision-making. Choosing a chairman should fall under that description. If they can’t figure out who best to lead them and have everybody play nice, then we as citizens of a representative government can express our disapproval at the polls. They should not force the rest of us into micromanaging what they were elected to do.
