Waste of gas, money

Published: Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

I would estimate that the amount of gasoline that is wasted daily trying to get into or out of Algonquin would almost equal the cost of the monstrosity that is currently being foisted upon our community.

The “interstate highway interchange” that supposedly will solve our traffic problems will rank right up there with the “Tyvek Towers.”

Folks, the traffic problem in Algonquin is a result of one bridge over the Fox River. An “interstate highway interchange” cannot move more people over that one bridge any faster, but it can, and is, wasting a huge quantity of gasoline daily.
