McHENRY – Buss Ford Lincoln will host its 10th annual Patriot’s Day open car show Sunday.

The car show is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Buss Ford Lincoln, 111 S. Route 31, McHenry. The event is sponsored by the dealership and McHenry Savings Bank.

The show is free and open to the public. The cost to register a car for the show is $10 in canned goods or a monetary donation to the FISH of McHenry Food Pantry.

The dealership hopes to raise about $2,000 for the pantry this year, general manager Drew Buss said.

“It’s a great way to give back to the community,” he said. “We really appreciate all the work the pantry does for McHenry.”

There will be free hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks. A live disc jockey will play music.

Trophies will be awarded to the top 15 entries in the open car show. The first 100 entrants will get a free dash plaque.

In past years, more than 500 people have come out to the event to see more than 200 cars registered for the show, Buss said.
