McHenry man charged with residential burglary

WOODSTOCK – A 34-year-old man has been arrested for residential burglary after ransacking a McHenry home, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Kevin S. Kosmicki, of McHenry, has been charged with felony counts of residential burglary and theft after investigators tracked stolen Apple products through the use of iCloud.

Deputies responded to a theft in the 3300 block of South Wright Road at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a news release. The resident told authorities that someone had entered the home through an unlocked door and stolen electronics, jewelry, a knife and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Some of the stolen electronic items were tracked back to Kosmicki, and the missing items were found at a nearby residence, the news release states.

Kosmicki remains at the McHenry County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
