Woman pleads not guilty in violent Illinois killing

BLOOMINGTON (AP) – A 24-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty in connection with the death of a 74-year-old man whose body parts were found in two Illinois counties.

The Pantagraph reports (http://bit.ly/1dcz0Xh) that Vishawn Mills entered the plea Friday in McLean County. She is charged with concealing a homicidal death in the death of Oakley Mitchell of Secor (SEE'-kohr).

Parts of Mitchell's body were found earlier this month in the Mackinaw River and a field.

Woodford County prosecutors have charged Mills' boyfriend, 23-year-old Rayshawn Johnson, with first-degree murder. Prosecutors say Johnson fatally shot Mitchell and Mills helped discard pieces of his body.

Mills and Johnson were arrested in Indianapolis.
