CHICAGO — It looks like a hot week ahead for much of Illinois. The National Weather Service is predicting a week of high temperatures for much of the state with highs in the 90s.
The weather service has issued a heat advisory for parts of the state. Heat and high humidity are expected from noon Monday through 10 p.m. Tuesday in western Illinois including Macomb. The weather service advises staying indoors when possible and drinking plenty of water to avoid heat-related illnesses. Checking on elderly relatives and neighbors is also a good idea.
For people working outside, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends frequent rest breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
