Algonquin Library to host employment workshop

ALGONQUIN – A program recognized as a “best practice” by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Algonquin Area Public Library, 2600 Harnish Drive, Algonquin.

The “Edge for Career Success” Power Employment Workshop developed by the Illinois WorkNet Center in Arlington Heights includes modules on goal setting, job search techniques, résumé and cover letter writing and interview skills.

Participants should bring a résumé.

The program is open to the public. Registration is limited to 24 participants. To sign up, visit www.aapld.org, stop by the library or call 847-458-6060, ext. 143.

The library has scheduled identical workshops for Oct. 5 and Nov. 2. Both run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
