Cary Fire Protection District plans centennial celebration dance

Published: Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 11:22 p.m. CDT

CARY – This year, the Cary Fire Protection District is celebrating 100 years of service to the community.

For years, the district held an annual dance as a fundraiser for the firefighters association. That tradition stopped in the 1980s as other fundraising activities were pursued.

As part of this year’s centennial celebration, the district once again will host a ballroom dance. It will be from 7 p.m. to midnight Sept. 14 at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake.

Music will be performed by a live band, and hors d’oeuvres will be available, as well as a cash bar.

Tickets cost $20 and may be bought at Cary Fire Protection District Station 1, 400 Cary-Algonquin Road, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. They also can be obtained through any district firefighter.

Special centennial T-shirts also are available for purchase.

For information, call 847-639-2121 or visit www.caryfire.com.
