HARVARD – Police have arrested three men in the April shooting of a 22-year-old Harvard resident.
Michael A. Tapia, 22, 1041 Aspen Court, Belvidere, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony, and mob action, a Class 4 felony, in the incident. Teovonni A. Cunningham, 29, 4119 Mila Ave., Rockford, and Juan Esquivel, 23, 10030 Cemetery Road, Pecatonica, are each charged with mob action.
Harvard police were dispatched at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday, April 7, for a report of gunshots. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old Harvard resident with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his back torso.
The offenders fled, but were taken into custody Wednesday at their respective residences. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office and US Marshall's Service assisted.
All three men are being held at the McHenry County Jail.
Tapia's bond has been set at $100,000. Esquivel and Cunningham have a bond set at $10,000.
