Turning Point thanks

To the Editor:

Turning Point recently held its eighth annual Take a Stand for Turning Point Radiothon at Sam’s Club in Crystal Lake.

We are thankful for the people of McHenry County who came out and helped us raise a record-breaking $86,000 for the women, children and men we serve.

It is because of the caring community that we will be able to continue to support the victims of domestic violence. Turning Point wants to thank those who made this event possible: the entire staff at Star 105.5; Sam’s Club managers Greg Wisle and Chris Krawczyk and their employees, who came out on their break to volunteer or eat the incredible food offered by Family Affair Food Truck; the Markee Family; Wayne Adams; Lonna Szydlowski, Kristi Butkus; and Janey Welch.

The event was generously sponsored by Sage Products, McDonald’s, Centegra Health System, Northwest Herald, Home State Bank, Medela, First Prudential of Crystal Lake, Crystal Lake Bank and Trust, Alliance Contractors, Harvard Factory Automation, Mercy Health System, and Chiro One.

The volunteers and staff were well fed during the two-day event by Panera Bread of Crystal Lake, Rosati’s, Dunkin Donuts, Konrad’s Bakery, Porkies, That’s Amore, Starbucks of Crystal Lake, Jersey Mike’s and Regal Theater.

We had a lofty goal of $100,000 this year, and we were only $14,000 short. If you are interested in helping us reach our goal, please contact us at 815-338-8081. Thank you again, McHenry County, for the support you showed during the radiothon.
