Published: Friday, Aug. 30, 2013 8:57 a.m. CDT

A Wonder Lake beach is closed on Friday due to high bacteria levels following water sampling, according to the McHenry County Department of Health.

Sunrise Ridge beach, located at 3800 W. Lake Shore Drive, is closed and will be resampled on Friday. The beach at Cumberland Lane in Lakewood has been placed on an advisory for high bacteria levels.

The advisory means there is an elevated health risk, according to the health department. All licensed beaches in the county are tested every two weeks to determine water quality.

All other county beaches are open.
