CARY – A man was airlifted to the hospital Monday after he fell out of a tree, the Cary Fire Protection District said.

The man, approximately in his 60s, fell out of the tree about 3:45 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and James Way, said Capt. Carl Boni.

Flight For Life took the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center in serious condition, Boni said.

Boni said the man was performing branch maintenance on his property when he fell 15 to 20 feet.

The fire district did not release his name.
