CHICAGO (AP) — A Cook County judge has sentenced a convicted rapist to 75 years in prison for assaulting three women after he was released from prison in 2009.

Judge Charles Burns sentenced 63-year-old Julius Anderson on Wednesday. Anderson was jailed for more than 30 years on sexual assault and armed robbery convictions. He was released in 2009 and living in a Chicago half-way house when he committed three sexual assaults within months after his release.

Prosecutors say Anderson approached victims from behind and threatened to kill them if they did not comply with his demands.

Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez says the sentence ensures a "violent predator will never again walk the streets of Chicago to prey on innocent women."
