NAPERVILLE — Naperville police are hoping to get help from the public tracking down three diamond thieves who managed to steal about $185,000 in gems from a suburban Chicago jewelry store.
Authorities said Wednesday that they're offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
The diamonds were stolen from Precious Fine Jewelry on Aug. 26
Police say the trio worked in tandem. First a man entered the store and asked to see the loose diamonds. Then a woman distracted the clerk, who put the gems behind a counter. Finally, a second woman snatched the jewels and the three walked out of the store.
Investigators say all three are Hispanic and between the ages of 20 and 25.
