Workforce Network to host career, training fair

WOODSTOCK – The McHenry County Workforce Network is participating in two new federal grants awarded to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity: the Accelerated Training for Illinois Manufacturing and Dislocated Worker Training.

In addition, the Workforce Network is collaborating with McHenry County College on its Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training grant.

The Workforce Network will host a career/training fair from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 at the McHenry County Workforce Center, 500 Russel Court, Woodstock, to highlight career and training opportunities through the three grants cited. There are opportunities for CNC operators, welders, robotics technicians, truck drivers and various information technology professionals.

Grant funding is available to interested and eligible applicants.

Approved training providers for the grants will be in attendance to share information about their programs and to answer questions. Workforce Network staff will be on hand to explain the application process and eligibility criteria. For information about the upcoming career/training fair, email Chris Nejdl at CWNejdl@co.mchenry.il.us or visit www.mchenrycountyworkforce.com.
