WOODSTOCK – The third annual Freunds for Life 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sept. 15.

The event raises money for epilepsy research in honor of Cassie Freund, who died in 2010 from a seizure. The race begins at 9 a.m. at Emricson Park, 900 W. South St., Woodstock.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and costs $30. Children under 10 years old are free.

Raffles, games, prizes and children's activities are among the activities that will follow the race.

For information, contact Lysa Johnson at 815-520-7801 or flickeringwicks2@aol.com.

Individuals can register in advance for the event by contacting Lysa or visiting epilepsychicago.donordrive.com/event/freunds.

All proceeds go to the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.
