WOODSTOCK — A Wonder Lake man accused of sexually assaulting a woman he knew is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

James C. Lorenz, 41, was charged with felony criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse on Saturday after the victim drove to the Wonder Lake Police Department to report that she had been sexually assaulted earlier that morning, according to a news release.

Sheriff’s deputies were later contacted and Lorenz was located at KC’s Cabin in Spring Grove, where he was arrested on an unrelated failure to appear warrant for driving under the influence, the release states. He was then interviewed and charged in the other incident.

Lorenz was being held at the McHenry County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
