GRANITE CITY — Police are searching for a woman who's facing charges after authorities say she had two children steal more than $100,000 worth of jewelry from a store while she distracted employees.

Twenty-three-year-old East St. Louis resident Geneshia L. Grey is charged with felony burglary and contributing to the criminal delinquency of a minor. Police haven't said how old the children were. Their relationship to Grey isn't clear.

Investigators say a relative turned over 69 empty jewelry boxes from Hurley & Co. jewelers in Granite City.

Surveillance footage shows Grey entering the store last month with two children, who took items from displays and put the pieces in two bags before walking out.

About $10,000 of the merchandise has been found. It's not clear if Grey has a lawyer.
