MCC to host solar energy information sessions

CRYSTAL LAKE – The benefits of using solar energy in homes or businesses will be presented at two upcoming free “Power Pack” information sessions hosted by McHenry County College.

The first session will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the MCC Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry. 

Representatives from Midwest Renewable Energy Association will explain how homeowners, business owners or governmental agencies can save money, create jobs and expand the use of clean energy.

Participants will receive information on the basics about solar energy, how to get a site assessment for meeting specifications for solar power and tips on finding qualified solar installers and incentive information.

The second Power Pack session will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at a LEED-certified Netzero Electric home in McHenry County.
