Man arrested for heroin possession outside Woodstock

WOODSTOCK – Police say they found heroin on a Woodstock man during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

Daniel M. Stolzke, 56, 808 Roosevelt Road, Woodstock, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, after he was allegedly carrying 1.6 grams of heroin with him in a car driven by a Richmond man.

The street value of the drugs seized is about $200, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, which made the arrest.

Police charged the driver, Matthew D. Bell, 32, Richmond, with obstructing justice and driving without a valid license, both Class A misdemeanors.

Police pulled over the vehicle driven by Bell at about 1 p.m. near the intersection of Route 120 and Greenwood Road in unincorporated Woodstock.

The bonds for Stolzke and Bell were set at $10,000 and $1,500, respectively.
