Crystal Lake garage damaged in early-morning fire

CRYSTAL LAKE - A garage suffered an estimated $15,000 worth of damage in an early-morning structure fire Saturday.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded at 3:07 a.m. to a report of a structure fire at 544 Portsmith Court, according to a news release from the fire department.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke coming from the garage of the residence. The fire was contained to the garage, and was under control in 15 minutes according to the news release. No one was in the home at the time of the fire.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters, and the fire is under investigation by the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.

Assisting at the scene were the Crystal Lake Building Department, fire resources from Algonquin, and the Crystal Lake Police Department.
