A Lake in the Hills is scheduled to appear in court later this month after posting a Craigslist advertisement to meet and have sex with a young boy, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeremy T. Mansfield, 20, was charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child on Sept. 4 after meeting with a Lake County Sheriff’s Office detective who he thought was a young boy he agreed to meet on Craigslist.

Mansfield posted the ad on Craigslist for a male companion, according to a news release. He then began communication with a detective who he thought was a 13-year-old boy, and set up a time to meet and engage in sexual activities.

Mansfield attended college in Washington and recently moved back to Illinois, the news release states. He told detectives he had sex with a 15-year-old girl in Idaho while attending college.

He also said he post advertisements on many websites seeking males or females of any age, the release states.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Lake County at 9 a.m. Sept. 25.

His bond was set at $100,000.

Anyone with information on Mansfield can contact Lake County Sheriff’s Office Det. Chris Covelli at 847-377-4145.
