To the Editor:
On Saturday, McHenry Township will again host its touch-a-truck, where adults and, of course, children can see and touch township road equipment.
It’s a great time for all, but especially exciting for the 30-plus heritage road associations and their hundreds, if not thousands, of homeowners whose taxes buy this equipment and pay the salaries but never get to see it in use around their homes.
Remember, McHenry Township has held the opinion that although your roads were platted and accepted by the county before the current road specifications were written, they don’t meet these specifications. Therefore, your tax dollars are used on your neighbors’ roads instead.
