In need of diapers

Published: Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

The St. Paul Diaper Bank delivers diapers to a little girl who is very ill, on a respirator, and has a full-time care provider.

She needs diapers around the clock. Her family is burdened by medical bills.

We also deliver diapers to a woman who has MS. She is bed and wheel chair-bound. Her family cannot afford her daily diaper needs. They depend on the Diaper Bank.

The Diaper Bank also distributes diapers to 14 agencies in our county, which then distribute them to others: infants and children of low-income families, disabled children and adults, those suffering through illness and seniors in need.

Last year, we distributed over 260,000 diapers, but requests were double that number, and remain so this year.

Take note. Before we can distribute diapers, we need to collect diapers, and that’s why we need your help.

Pitch in however you are able – diapers, diaper drives or dollars for diapers. Many will be grateful.
