Prep girls roundup: Woodstock co-op girls swimming tops Dundee-Crown

Lizzy Kruse won all four of her events for the Woodstock co-op girls swimming team in its 103-65 win over Dundee-Crown on Thursday in Woodstock.

Kruse won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:13.06, more than three seconds ahead of second-place finisher and teammate Brasile Brooke. Kruse also won the 100 backstroke as well as swimming a leg on two winning relays.

Dundee-Crown’s Kellie Mucha won the 100 butterfly (1:10.37) and was also on the winning 400 freestyle relay.

GOLF

CL Central co-op 157, Dundee-Crown 261: At Turnberry in Lakewood, Lexi Harkins shot even-par 36 to earn medalist honors for the Tigers (7-0, 4-0), with Larisa Luloff adding a 40 in their Fox Valley Conference win. Kylie Kost shot a 62 to lead the Chargers.

McHenry 172, Grant 217: At Antioch Golf Club in Antioch, Kailey Lindholm shot a 39 and Abby Ross shot a 40 to help lead the Warriors to victory. Madie Ogden added a 44 for McHenry.

Rock Falls 209, Oregon 213, Marengo 239: At Silver Ridge in Oregon, Monica Millard led the Indians with a 53. Mikaela Broling shot a 59 for Marengo.

VOLLEYBALL

Alden-Hebron 2, Mooseheart 0: At Mooseheart, the Green Giants (4-9, 1-4) were led by Brooklyn Hilton’s eight kills in their 25-11, 25-10 Northeastern Athletic Conference victory. Jacqueline Walters had six aces.

Grayslake North 2, Woodstock North 0: At Grayslake, Alaina Geissberger had eight kills and four blocks as the Knights (5-11, 2-3) won, 25-13, 25-13, in FVC Fox play. Cassie Reimbold had nine digs and Kendall Buchman added seven assists for Grayslake North.

The Thunder (2-9, 1-3) were led by Rachel Stout, who had three kills and Casey Gavers, who had 10 digs.

Richmond-Burton 2, North Boone 0: At Richmond, Kayla Volling had 10 kills as she led the Rockets (5-6, 3-0) to victory, 25-12, 25-10. Ali Frantti contributed with eight kills and three digs in the Big Northern Conference East Division win. Kelsey Burlini added 20 assists and eight digs.

Dundee-Crown 2, Huntley 1: At Carpentersville, Frankie Cavallaro led the Chargers (9-7, 2-2) with 13 assists, six kills and nine digs in their FVC Valley victory, 16-25, 25-20, 28-26. Breanna Novak and Lauren Lococo each added six kills for Dundee-Crown.

Genoa-Kingston 2, Marengo 0: At Genoa, the Indians (4-2) lost, 25-15, 25-11, in BNC East play. Charity Steffen has two digs and an ace for Marengo.

Hampshire 2, Woodstock 1: At Woodstock, Hampshire won, 25-17, 23-25, 25-14, in FVC Fox play. Megan Pautrat led the Blue Streaks with seven kills in the loss.

Prairie Ridge 2, McHenry 0: At Crystal Lake, Aubree Eggers had six kills and six blocks as she helped the Wolves (7-7) beat the Warriors, 26-24, 25-11, in FVC Valley play. Taylor Otto added 15 assists and seven digs.

Zoe Lindsey led McHenry (5-6) with five kills and teammate Ally Spence had 10 digs.

CL Central 2, Grayslake Central 0: At Grayslake, the Tigers won the FVC Fox match, 25-19, 25-15, behind Lauren Leverenz and Kassi Dvoracek, as each had nine kills.

Dvoracek also added a team-high 13 digs.

CROSS COUNTRY

Marengo Triangular: At Indian Oaks in Marengo, Kitty Allen and Ashlynd Broling claimed the top two times and helped the Indians win the meet. Allen bested Broling by eight seconds to take the top spot with a time of 20:22. Marengo finished in first place with a total of 27 points, one point ahead of Harvard.

The Hornets were led by Jordan Peterson, who finished third with a time of 20:55.

TENNIS

Prairie Ridge 6, McHenry 1: At McHenry, Callie Schmit won at No. 1 singles to help lead the Wolves to victory in FVC Valley play.

The Warriors’ (6-5, 1-3 FVC Valley) lone win came at No. 2 doubles, where Svenja Tonn and Emeris Raquel won, 6-3, 6-1. No. 2 singles player Lauren Goebel was injured after one set for McHenry.

Huntley 4, Woodstock 3: At Huntley, the Red Raiders lost all three singles matches but won all four doubles matches, led by Jantzen Rosales and Tamara Funke, who won at No. 1 doubles for Huntley.

Ana Fedmasu, Amy Fischbach and Bianca Jimenez won their singles matches for Woodstock in the loss.

CL South 7, Grayslake Central 0: At Crystal Lake, the Gators were led by singles wins from Julia Thome at No. 1 and Jacqueline Boorom and Hannah Rakofsky. South (9-0, 8-0) also won all four doubles matches in straight sets.

Hampshire 7, Woodstock North 0: At Woodstock, Hannah Hougland won at No. 1 singles for the Whip-Purs while teammates Amanda Shultz and Paige Larson each won their singles matches in the win.

Kasia Mucha and Kelsey Parlogean came close to earning the Thunder’s only victory of the night at No. 2 doubles, but ultimately lost in three sets.

Jacobs 5, CL Central 2: At Crystal Lake, Ashley Kosy won at No. 1 singles for Jacobs (13-3) while teammate Rachel Buttolph won at No. 2 singles in straight sets.

Sarah Massett won at No. 3 singles for the Tigers.

Cary-Grove 7, Grayslake North 0: At Cary, The Trojans swept the meet and were led by Macy Koepke who won at No. 1 singles while Alyssa Derer and Julie Kregel won at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in the win.
