Route 31 reopened north of downtown Algonquin

Authorities have reopened Route 31 between Cary Road and Klasen Road north of downtown Algonquin.

A gas leak in the area had caused the stretch of highway to close this afternoon, according to the Village of Algonquin.

Both northbound and southbound traffic were blocked.
