Roundup: Alden-Hebron falls to Rockford Christian Life

Alden-Hebron turned the ball over six times and gave up 393 rushing yards to Christian Life in a 56-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference loss Friday in Rockford.

“They’re a good football team, but we played really, really bad,” Giants coach John Lalor said. “They couldn’t do much wrong.”

Nate Peterson led A-H (1-3) with 55 yards rushing on 14 carries. Also for the Giants, Colten Cashmore completed three passes highlighted by a 16-yard reception by Avi Mor and a 14-yard catch by Cody Nelson.

BOYS SOCCER

Indian Cup: At Hononegah, Dundee-Crown defeated Jacobs, 1-0, and Crystal Lake South tied with Hersey, 1-1. 

William Campos scored in the first half on an assist from Ivan Sanchez for the Chargers for the game’s only score. The win improved D-C’s record to 10-0. 

Also for the Chargers, Jose Gonzalez made two saves in goal.

Charlie Ruff scored a second-half tying goal on an assist from Matt Tobolt for the Gators. Gus Alvarez made four saves in goal for South (5-4-3).

GIRLS SWIMMING

Cary-Grove 100, Huntley 69: At Crystal Lake, the Trojans got two wins each from Becca Elrod (200 individual medley, 500 freestyle) and Ashlynn Baker (100 freestyle, 100 backstroke) in a Fox Valley Conference win. 

Emily Ferguson won the 100 butterfly for the Red Raiders. 

HOCKEY

CL South 4, Warren 2: At West Dundee, Stephen Bonne and Shane Gustafson each scored two goals for the Gators at the Gator Cup Tournament. Also for South, Josh Albrecht made 12 saves in goal.
