Architectural Bike Tour to pedal through Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE – Ever wonder what the Crystal Lake area looked like 100 years ago?  Pedal through the past with the Crystal Lake Park District Colonel Palmer House staff from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday for a bike tour of downtown Crystal Lake.

This 7-mile round-trip class will cover the village of Nunda (present-day Crystal Lake) and its history, buildings and the people who owned them.

Participants must provide their own bikes and helmets (required).

The program, which is open to all ages, departs from the grounds of the Colonel Palmer House, 660 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176) in Crystal Lake.

The cost is $28 for Crystal Lake Park District residents, and $38 for nonresidents. The fee includes lunch in downtown Crystal Lake.

To register, visit www.crystallakeparks.org. For information, contact Mary Ott at 815-477-5873 or via email at palmerhouse@crystallakeparks.org.
