Reader disservice

Published: Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

I think it is a disservice to your readers to publish letters that contain blatant misrepresentations and falsehoods. You would fact check submissions from your staff, why then assist in spreading and perpetuating a reader’s mendacity?

I refer to Mr. Nat Leighton’s letter (Sept. 26). In it, he refers to “innumerable polls” that have shown that the majority of the country is in favor of Obamacare. This is entirely untrue.

When people of Mr Leighton’s ilk refer to “We the people,” there is no way he refers to me, because I would never be a “we” with any Marxist attempting to socialize something as important to personal freedom and privacy as my individual health care.
