Fox Valley Conference

Fox Division

Grayslake North (5-0, 3-0) vs. Crystal Lake Central (4-1, 2-0)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday

Where: Owen Metcalf Field

About the Knights: North is No. 5 in The Associated Press’ Class 6A rankings and is led by sophomore QB Merrick Gentile, who has thrown for 689 and rushed for 659 yards.

About the Tigers: Central QB Kyle Lavand has thrown for 1,088 yards and ran for 312. RB Ryan Williams has 384 yards rushing and the Tigers have won three consecutive games. WR Jack Ortner leads the area with 43 receptions, 30 of which have come in the last two games.

Woodstock (0-5, 0-2)

vs. Johnsburg (1-4, 1-2)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday

Where: Johnsburg Athletic Field

About the Blue Streaks: WR Jordan Sumner averages 20.2 yards a catch and WR John Kruse leads the team with 24 receptions. QB Alan Hafer has thrown for 785 yards.

About the Skyhawks: Johnsburg ended its 25-game losing streak with a 22-21 victory against Woodstock North last week. QB Nick Brengman is fourth among area passers with 799 yards.

Woodstock North (1-4, 1-1)

vs. Hampshire (3-2, 1-2)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday

About the Thunder: RBs Jordan Plummer (452) and Grant Wade (403) give North a balanced attack. Three of the Thunder’s losses have come by seven points or less.

About the Whip-Purs: Hampshire is trying to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2008. RB Nick Kielbasa leads the area with 663 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.

Fox Valley Conference

Fox Division

Prairie Ridge (2-3, 1-2)

vs. Huntley (2-3, 0-2)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Where: Harmony Road Campus Stadium

About the Wolves: Prairie Ridge’s defense was solid in a 6-0 loss to Cary-Grove, but the offense continued to struggle. The Wolves, who had not been shut out since 2006, have not scored in two of their last three games.

About the Red Raiders: Huntley suffered its third close loss in a row last week, 17-14, to Dundee-Crown. RB Mitch Kawell (490) is second among area rushers and Jake Scalise has 300 yards.

Jacobs (3-2, 2-0) vs. Crystal Lake South (2-3, 1-2)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday

Where: Ken Bruhn Field

About the Golden Eagles: Jacobs has won three consecutive games and QB Bret Mooney has completed 50 of 65 passes in those games with 11 touchdown passes.

About the Gators: South had its most productive offensive output in its 28-21 victory against McHenry last week. RB Chris Ivers ran for 157 yards last week.

McHenry (2-3, 0-2)

vs. Cary-Grove (3-2, 3-0)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: Al Bohrer Field

About the Warriors: FB Jordan Johnson leads McHenry with 306 yards rushing. QB Mike Briscoe has thrown for 784 yards.

About the Trojans: C-G has a three-game winning streak and has shut out its past two opponents, Dundee-Crown and Prairie Ridge. FB Tyler Pennington had 306 yards rushing in two starts for a 153-yard average, the best among area players.

Big Northern Conference

East Division

North Boone (3-2, 2-0)

vs. Harvard (5-0, 2-0)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Dan Horne Field

About the Vikings: North Boone beat Rockford Christian, 51-0, last week. The Vikings’ losses came against Clinton, Wis. (19-8) and Oregon (27-20).

About the Hornets: Harvard almost cracked the Class 4A top 10 this week with 18 points, four from the 10th spot. WR Justin Nolen is tied for second in the area with 27 receptions. RB Jose Mejia has 442 yards rushing and RB Christian Kramer, who missed time with a shoulder injury, is back and close to full strength.

Marengo (0-5, 0-3)

vs. Burlington Central (1-4, 1-2)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

About the Indians: Marengo’s offense has been sparked by sophomore QB Zach Knobloch and sophomore RB Jarrell Jackson. They have lost 13 consecutive games.

About the Rockets: Burlington played one of its best games in a 17-13 loss to Harvard in Week 4, then was shut out by Genoa-Kingston, 43-0, last week.

Richmond-Burton (3-2, 1-1) vs. Rockford Christian (0-5, 0-3)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

About the Rockets: R-B speedster Luke Brinkmann leads the Rockets with 357 yards rushing. Vince Battaglia (336) and Brad Boelkow (281) give R-B a balanced attack.

About the Royal Lions: Since moving from the Northeastern Athletic Conference last year, Rockford Christian has won one football game. The Lions have been outscored 222-55 this season.

Suburban Christian Conference Blue Division

St. Francis (3-2, 1-2)

vs. Marian Central (4-1, 2-1)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: George Harding Field

About the Spartans: St. Francis suffered its two losses against Montini (30-7) and Aurora Christian (24-14) in its past two games. Montini is the 4-time defending Class 5A state champion and ranked No. 1 in that class, Aurora Christian is the 2-time defending Class 3A state champion and ranked No. 1 in that class.

About the Hurricanes: Marian is No. 10 in Class 5A and QB BIlly Bahl leads the area in passing with 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. WR Brett Olson is tied for second in the area in receptions (27) and tied for the lead in touchdowns (eight).

Northeastern Athletic Conference

Alden-Hebron (3-2, 3-2)

vs. Mooseheart (4-1, 4-1)

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

About the Giants: A-H bounced back from two consecutive losses to defeat Westminster Christian, 54-27, last week. RBs Nick Beck (298) and Nate Peterson (271) lead the rushing attack for the Giants.

About the Red Ramblers: Mooseheart’s only loss came against Luther North, a team A-H beat. The Ramblers have outscored their opponents, 207-41, but have the NAC’s toughest teams coming up on their schedule.

Nonconference

Grayslake Central (3-2)

vs. Dundee-Crown (4-1)

When: 7:15 p.m. Friday

Where: D-C Bowl

About the Rams: RB Malcolm Reed leads Grayslake Central with 338 yards rushing. QB Alex Lennartz has thrown for 478 yards and ran for 236.

About the Chargers: D-C is in prime position to make the playoffs for the first time since 1994. The Chargers are led by RB Caleb Parson with 364 yards rushing.
