CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County College’s Continuing Education Department will teach craft aficionados how to make several gifts sure to please friends and family.
• Twisted crystal bracelet: Participants will learn how to string 4 mm crystals and bead them into a twisted pattern.
Supplies needed: scissors and 4 mm bicone crystals (up to four colors, totaling about 150 pieces). All other supplies included.
The class will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Room A241 at the college, 8900 Route 14. The cost is $39. To register, use course ID: NCF S62 010.
• Iris folding paper crafting: Iris folding is the craft of folding patterned paper to create textured greeting cards, pictures and more. During this class, participants will begin by creating two greeting cards and finish with a framed design ready for display.
Bring a pair of scissors and two rolls of transparent tape. All other supplies are included.
The class will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 in Room A241. The cost is $35. To register, use course ID: NCF S42 010.
• Zentangle for the holidays: A certified Zentangle teacher will take everyone through the steps to create a display for the holidays. No previous classes or artistic skills are needed.
All materials will be provided; additional supplies may be bought.
The class will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in Room E217. The cost is $35. To register, use course ID: NFA S48 011.
• Holiday silk scarf and painting: Paint a silk scarf, silk wall art or mini reusable silk gift bags.
Students will have their choice of up to three silk projects using abstract colors, nature themes or other designs of their choice.
The class will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays from Nov. 2 through Nov. 23 in Room E105.
