Race for Helping Paws set for Nov. 3

WOODSTOCK – The seventh annual Panting for Paws 5K and Fun Run will benefit Helping Paws Animal Shelter.

The races will begin at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 3 at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake.

Both the 5K run/walk and the 1-mile fun run will be on a flat scenic path near the baseball pavilion in the northeast section of the park.

Participants can register at www.pantingforpaws.com. The cost is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run. Shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after Oct. 15, but they will be distributed while supplies last.

Proceeds from this race will benefit the dogs and cats of Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock.

Online registration will close at 11 p.m. Nov. 1. Participants can pick up race packets in person from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at Helping Paws Animal Shelter, or starting at 7 a.m. on race day.

For the safety of everyone, there will be no pets allowed on any of the race paths. Leashed dogs current on their vaccines are welcome as spectators.

For information, call race coordinator Amy Edwards at 815-338-4400.
