FOX RIVER GROVE – A Fox River Grove family was unharmed Sunday by a fire that started in their attic and caused an estimated $75,000 in property damage.

The Fox River Grove Fire Protection District responded at 9:49 a.m. Sunday to a report of a structure fire at 9713 Gallek Road in rural Fox River Grove, according to the department.

Firefighters found the attic of the small, ranch home on fire. Crews had the fire under control within 10 minutes. No one was injured in the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious, said Deputy Chief Jim Kreher.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The investigation is ongoing. Crews from Cary, Algonquin, Barrington and Wauconda assisted Fox River Grove with the fire.
