Algonquin plans Fall Harvest Day, Harvest Hustle 5K Walk

ALGONQUIN – The Downtown Algonquin Partnership will hold its annual Fall Harvest Day event on Saturday.

The event will be in Cornish Park after the village’s Harvest Hustle 5K Walk. It will feature historical walks of Old Town, children’s crafts, vendors and more.

The schedule of events:

• 8 a.m.: Harvest Hustle 5K Walk

• 10 a.m.: Old Town Algonquin historical walk

• 10 a.m. to noon: Pumpkin carver demonstration

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Live music from HairDaze

• Noon: Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance Irish Dancers

• 1 p.m.: Halloween costume parade

• 3 p.m.: Event ends

Registration for the Harvest Hustle 5K Walk is available online at www.algonquin.org/recreation, or on the day of the event at Cornish Park, 101 S. Harrison St., beginning at 7:30 a.m. The walk begins at 8 a.m. 

The registration cost is $15 for ages 15 and up and $7 for those between ages 6 and 14. Participants ages 5 and under are admitted free.

This walk will benefit “Recreation for ALL-gonquin,” a scholarship program designed to provide opportunity for Algonquin youth to participate in recreation.
