BARRINGTON – Anderson’s Candy Shop of Richmond will host a grand reopening during Sweetest Day weekend for its new location at 128 E. Main St., Barrington.

The grand reopening will take place 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 19 and noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 20. There will be chocolate samples and previews of holiday chocolates to celebrate the event.

Anderson’s Candy Shop was established in 1919 in Chicago and moved to Richmond in 1926. The third- and fourth-generation owners opened a second store in November 2012 at 218 W. Main St. in Barrington but closed that location Oct. 5 in favor of a location with better access for disabled customers, more parking and looser zoning restrictions. The new shop is located at 128 E. Main St., Barrington.
