Police make multiple arrests in Wonder Lake after theft, altercation
WONDER LAKE – Two Wonder Lake men and a juvenile were arrested on various charges after the men threatened the juvenile with a machete inside his home, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Steven A. Miller and Riley B. Farrar, both from Wonder Lake, confronted the juvenile Monday over a stolen safe belonging to Miller that contained less than $600 and an unknown amount of drugs, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The two men noticed the safe was inside the juvenile’s car and damaged the vehicle to gain access to the property, the release states. Miller and Farrar then illegally entered the juvenile’s home and threatened him with a machete before leaving the residence without further incident, police said.
Police then located Miller and Farrar and charged them Monday. The Wonder Lake juvenile also was charged with theft.
Miller, 20, of 8514 Elm St., was charged with armed violence, criminal trespass to a residence and criminal damage to property. Farrar, 18, of 8512 Elm St., was charged with criminal trespass to a residence.
Both Miller and Farrar are due in court Thursday. The McHenry County state’s attorney is reviewing additional charges in the case, police said.
