Man charged after body found in Chicago-area woods

RIVER FOREST – A Chicago man is being accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death and dumping her body in a forest preserve in a western suburb.

Chicago police said late Friday that 19-year-old Justino Correa was charged with first-degree murder and concealing a homicidal death.

Authorities discovered the 20-year-old victim's remains Thursday inside a plastic bin in Thatcher Woods, along the Des Plaines River in the suburb of River Forest.

The Cook County medical examiner determined Friday that she died of multiple stab wounds and ruled the death a homicide.

A police statement says Correa stabbed his girlfriend during an argument and then placed her body inside a plastic bin that he dumped in the wooded area.

He was expected to appear in bond court Saturday.
