The area is no longer under a frost advisory.
A frost advisory was in effect until 8 a.m. Monday for McHenry County, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures were expected to drop to the low-to-mid 30s for the first widespread frost of the season, the weather service said.
High pressure over the area was expected overnight, along with calm winds and rapidly falling temperatures, the weather service said.
The weather service said sensitive plants may be damaged or killed if they’re left unprotected.
