3 die, 5 injured in Aurora car crash

AURORA, Ill. (AP) — Aurora police say three people were killed and five were hurt after a two-vehicle crash in suburban Chicago.

Police say the dead include a 57-year-old woman and a 77-year-old woman. The women were among seven members of a Montgomery family traveling in a minivan. The third victim was a 28-year-old Aurora man who was the only occupant of an SUV. Police say two people were killed in Sunday night's accident and a third died later at a hospital.

In a statement, authorities say the crash occurred around 11:50 p.m.

Authorities haven't released the names of the victims and say they're still working to reconstruct what happened. The survivors' injuries are too severe to give statements to police.
