Great family event

To the Editor:

Grandpa and I took two of our grandkids to the Montini Family Music Fest on Sept. 14 at Petersen Park in McHenry. Their mother had to work, and they wanted to go so bad we said we’d take them.

There was a small fee of $5 for children 13 and older; children 12 and under were free. It started at 2:30 p.m. and went on until 10:30 p.m.

Well, let me tell you it was so inspiring. The people were so friendly and the atmosphere was all about family. The music was done well by three bands: Serendipity, 7th Heaven and Friction. All were exceptional. Even grandpa and I enjoyed them.

The food was very good also. They had lots of games and bouncies for the kids, all free. This was the nicest family gathering we have been to in a long time.

Wouldn’t our world be much more loving, caring and together as families if we had more of these kinds of events. Thank you, Montini Catholic School, for hosting this spectacular event. Hope to see you next year. We can’t wait.
