Crystal Lake man charged in McHenry Home invasion

MCHENRY - A 52-year-old man was charged with allegedly forcing his way into a home Saturday night to confront his ex-girlfriend and beating two occupants.

McHenry Police said Eric J. Wyatt, of 413 Lake Avenue, is charged with home invasion, aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery and unlawful interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

Police said they responded to a 911 hangup call on Vista Terrace about 8:20 p.m. and found a male and female victim who had been beaten with minor injuries.

An ISPERN alert was issued for Wyatt. Crystal Lake police took Wyatt into custody and transferred him to the custody of McHenry Police.

Wyatt is being held in the McHenry County Jail and has a rights court appearance scheduled for Monday morning. He faces up to 30 years in prison on the most serious charges.

McHenry police said the investigation is ongoing and said additional charges could be filed.
