Rutherford, I-Cash tour to make area stops

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is encouraging area residents to attend I-Cash events Wednesday and Thursday to determine whether the state is holding any of their money or unclaimed property.

On Wednesday morning, members of the Treasurer's Office will visit the Grafton Food Pantry, 11481 Allison Court, Huntley. From 9 to 10:30 a.m., I-Cash staff will help residents find out whether they have unclaimed property. At 10 a.m., Rutherford will speak.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., I-Cash staff will be at the Crystal Lake Country Club, Crystal Lake Kiwanis Club meeting, 721 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake. At noon, Rutherford will speak. He also will speak at the Kiwanis meeting at 12:30 p.m.

From 3:30 to 5 p.m., I-Cash staff will be at the Woodstock Public Library, 414 S. Judd St., Woodstock. Rutherford will speak at 4 p.m.

On Thursday, the I-Cash staff will be at the Fox Lake Village Hall, 66 Thillen Drive, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Rutherford will speak at 10:30 a.m.

To find out whether you have unclaimed property through I-Cash, visit  www.treasurer.il.gov and follow the I-Cash link. The website is updated weekly to reflect new properties remitted to the office. Additionally, I-Cash teams conduct regular outreach across the state, place twice-annual notices in newspapers and send direct mail to new single-owner claimants with property worth more than $100.
